ZREO Update

Posted Thursday, June 5th, 2008 in News.

Hey guys, I wanted to issue this message because it has come to my attention that some fans have not been entirely happy with our recent updates, as well as our IRC Chatroom.

I’ll address the Chatroom first. A few months back, we combined IRC servers with Hyrule.net. Once we did, we changed the default room to #Zelda, and a few people didn’t like this, and have since left. We are still linked to Hyrule.net, but we now reside back in our own #lobby channel. I invite all of you back! We hope to see you in there.

Secondly, due to a NEW project (not Open Symphony, which I am sadden to say is now officially on HOLD, nor Battlescapes), we will be immediately suspending the WEEKLY Z.R.E.O. Friday updates and reducing the update interval to BI-MONTHLY to give the team the much needed time to work on this new, and very exciting, promising project. We expect the new project to be near completion by the end of the summer. Once this project is completed, the return of weekly updates is likely to resume.

Please note; Paypal donations are STILL COUNTED towards the Battlescapes Credits offer. Though Battlescapes is on HOLD, all money is directly deposited into the Site’s hosting fund. Any surplus that remains by the time Battlescapes is resumed will go towards the Battlescapes Cost Fund.

We will see you here next week for our first bi-monthly update. On behalf of the ZREO team, I thank you all for your understanding and continuing support.

BI-MONTHYLY?!?!?!, this…this… this… can’t be true!, it’ll take a long time for the albums to be complete!, and that project does it has a relation with ZREO?, it’s not Field Suite…right, then what could it be…well…I hope you can finish it as soon as you can and good luck with it…

I have a feeling this is something big! :D
I don’t mind this at all though, now I have all summer to make transcriptions! Oh, and dare I say WZMR on this reply board?

Well I will miss the weekly additions, but I can understand what’s happening, I think. Looking forward to news about the new project.

I had completely forgoted about the Battle Scapes project, sadly…

BI-MONTHLY! Christ Fire have you gone mad? You realize what a update every two months could do, right? You just solved the chat room problem, but now we’ll have the problem are people gonna stick around for bi-monthly updates? What the heck is this project? Didn’t you call Battlescapes promising? OK, I’ll admit it is but look what ended up happening to it. I just hope you really know what you’re doing Fire.

Man, that was unexpected! BI-MONTHLY? It would be really nice that other orchestrators post their songs during the month to make people less stressed about that bi-monthly update of FireGS. Like Stephen said, I just hope you really know what you’re doing Fire.

Well my english is not very good, so I thought bimonthly means 2times a month. Now I looked it up and I’m shooked. 1 Song every 2 months?
But summer ends in the middle of september, so this horror only will last for 4 moths. It’s nearly like a very long summerbrake, but with 2 songs. So just be happy guys, we will survive this 16 Weeks!

PS:I guess I know the next Song that will be announced here…

Dark Link:”Clock Town Day 3 is done with the MIDI format. All Fire has to do is convert the sound to his libraries.”

@ ebuch
you’re right ;)

I know the decrease in updates hurts. But a LARGE portion of Fire’s, Dark Link’s, and my time has been filtered into this exciting new project. But there is a reason we are choosing this direction. Anticipate something big. And if you think you’re thinking big, think bigger. That is all.

Not to be “That Guy,” but wouldn’t it make more sense to finish a project before starting anything new? You guys seem to be more of the “Yay start new project work work work oh wait can’t finish this right now maybe later Yay start new project…” type (and I will admit, I am as well, anyone who looks in my SVN repository will run out of fingers to count unfinished projects on), but, in my opinion, this is getting a little out of hand.

I agree, but for specific reasons, this new one needs to be completed before the others. Wish I could say more!

Very interesting…..

“Not to be that guy, but I will be anyway.” :P

Allow me to say that this is the first project I have been invited on, and I can’t speak for projects in the past, but so far, the workflow seems to be progressing as planned and all three of us are completing milestones toward success on a weekly basis. I compose game music for a living. The project WILL be completed. Don’t you worry.

I hold nothing against this Bi-Monthly systematic change. Projects are always worth pursuing, and the fact that you will still update (it’s only four times a month usually, so don’t get your panties in bunches, guys) is very promising, further revealing your loyalty to the fans. I’m thankful that you will be continuing updating at all, because frankly, you don’t have to be doing any of this. Complaining about such matters is pitiful.

I am really looking forward to this project, and every future update to come; as always. I appreciate and respect your work ethic, Fire.
