Late Friday Update

Posted Friday, July 11th, 2008 in News.

Hey all, sorry for the very late update. Today, we have a transcription of Kakariko Village from Twilight Princess from a newcomer, Shadow-AH. Again, I apologize for the wait!

’s okay. not really all that great in my opinion, sorry. It just… doesn’t seem to meet the same standards the rest of them do. There are a couple of aspects that could be improved, but… I’m not sure I have a good enough ear to differentiate them and pick them out.

yeah, it seemed unremarkable and not quite as good as I remember the version from the game being, although nothing was glaringly WRONG

Yes, there is something wrong with it: I copletely missed the percussion.
Well, I guess I have to fix that some time or another.

Now that is just lazy. I can tell that you took the MIDI from vgmusic.com and played it live. This would have been okay if the MIDI was indeed a good MIDI, but, in fact, it is terrible. And therefore, you picked up all of the MIDI’s numerous mistakes.

Coincidentally, I fixed the Kakariko Village MIDI a few weeks ago. I personally analyzed both the incorrect MIDI and an actual MP3 from the game in order to get a very true-to-the-original MIDI. My MIDI sounds much more similar to the true soundtrack (as in I fixed nearly all, if not ALL, the mistakes). I am very willing to send the corrected MIDI to someone in charge… as long as a redux would be made (or, even better, if the current track would be entirely scrapped and redone - only a few, although substantial, changes would have to be made to whomever played the music).

Next time, please make sure that the music is very close to correct before practicing it, playing it, recording it, and uploading it. There is some very quality music on this site, and uploading a piece of music with blatantly obvious mistakes is not expected.

Who knew, ZREO music are just an enhanced MIDIs…

ZREO isnt. We do our transcriptions by ear. Until recently I found out he did what you just mentioned. ZREO isn’t supposed to be just enhanced midis. That takes away the magic. It’s transcriptions from scratch.

Bah! Not this retarded arrangement again! People on youtube are playing this arrangement on the piano and it misses a D chord the first bar in the second half of part 2.
