Soundscapes Volume 3 Release!

Posted Thursday, August 21st, 2008 in News.

Hello current fans, and new fans!

When we rolled back the weekly updates from evey week to once every two weeks, we heard a lot of complaining and rightfully so. However, we have had a lot of new projects on our plate. To finally inform you all, we have been working on three projects. Firstly, we have rebegun work on Battlescapes. Nextly, we are still working on a super-secret project that will be revealed in a few months. We’re sure said project will spark a ton of interest. This brings us to today.

Soundscapes Vol.3

Today, Zelda Reorchestrated is proud to present the third installment of the Soundscapes Series, Soundscapes Volume 3. Soundscapes Vol.3 has the largest track list of all Soundscape volumes thus far, thirteen! Volume three releases 10 brand new soundscapes, including a few new redux’d songs, as well as one new song. The other three tracks are repackaged versions of released Soundscapes that are on the site which have not been in another volume.

Another new feature of Volume 3 is the download options. When you visit the Soundscapes page, by going through the Project’s page, you will notice that we are offering the album in both single files, and complete collection RAR files. We are also releasing the album in 160 kbps MP3, 320 kbps MP3, and the newest - 32-bit uncompressed WAV!! We have also provided Rapidshare links for the large collections should our servers become bogged down.

We sincearly hope you enjoy our latest project album as we have enjoyed making it. We ask that if you download the album, we simply ask that if you have a Digg.com account, that you can help get the ablum out there by Digging us via the button below, and if you don’t have an account yet, why not sign up? It’s free and will spread the word.

Yeah I got a Digg account just for this. Thanks Zen for the awesome coverage and the mass emailing. You guys still rock! And of course, ZREO does too. And now I have to go upgrade my 160 pre-release version to the 320 version.

This is THE best Soundscapes Volume to date. The past two were great, but showcased more of the “adventurous” eras in the many Links’ journeys, with overall ‘outdoor/forest-like’ tracks, while this gem highlights the conclusive elements of the Legend of Zelda, enveloping the music with an overall ‘falling water’, theme, as seen in the following titles (not bonus-inclusive):
- Great Fairy’s Fountain
- Ocean
- Zora’s Domain
- Windfall
- Pirate’s Fortress
- Rain Scene
- Farewell Hyrule King
- Last Battle

All of these share a common feel - that of an end - whether it be in the title, the environment that they represent, or most importantly, the rearranged music. But what is the end? Is it the end of a journey? Or is it where the water falls. Perhaps the epic journeys of the many Links represented in this album come to an end in representation by the overall ‘fall of water’, as is depicted in the album art.

I could go on speaking speculatively about this, but it is truly a work of art. I salute you all for such an incredible experience.

Awesome!

Btw. the timberwolftech mirror seems to be broken!
In other news, I updated my zreo.py script so it knows the new soundscapes album: http://twoday.tuwien.ac.at/pub/files/zreo-script

And just as a reminder, here is the zreo podcast feed for all the songs:
http://twoday.tuwien.ac.at/pub/files/zreo

It contains *all* songs (not only the newest and in both qualities 160 and 320) so it became 476 KB big already.

This is amazing! It’s strange how when playing the game, we tend to listen to the music and ignore the sounds. But the plain music just isn’t right. I just about jumped out of my seat from a mix of joy and fear when the Great Fairy’s laugh came in!

Awesome, I love it. Probably the best soundscape so far. Love the 32-bit audio though, I’m a bit of an audiophile so seeing that left me ecstatic. Man I wish I could produce my music at such an high fidelity. Good luck with school tomorrow! :3
