Nayru’s Song

Hey fans, sorry for the late update.. This is the first chance I’ve had a sizeable amount of time in front of a computer to update the site since Mycro_chip finished up this update for you, and we hope you all enjoy it nevertheless! Nayru’s Song – Oracle of Ages

Have a good week =]

I can't finde it on the listen Page…
Nice Intro and good works but the vocals seem a little too … I don't know… technical?

Posted by Mycro_chip (October 25th, 2009 at 1:18 pm) permalink

The song has not been updated on the Listen page yet.
Could you possibily elaborate on what you mean by "technical"?

Posted by SuperJario (October 25th, 2009 at 4:35 pm) permalink

wait, that's supposed to be vocals?!? No, offense, but I thought it sounded more like synth-strings. maybe that's what Bluebird meant by it sounding "technical"? And can a human voice even go that high? But anyway, it sounds quite good overall, so good job, Mycro_chip. :)

Really beautiful, and I've been waiting for you goiz to reorchestrate this forever. I even requested it once or twice to ebuch, I think.
Though the whole thing is a really good piece of music, I don't think I'm much of a fan of the tempo change at the end.
It sounds like you used a harp for the part Nayru played with her harp, and I like the warm brass tones that were inserted, but I think he means the "vocals" don't sound like vocals. I myself mistook them for a string instrument of some sort occasionally.

Absolutely beautiful. This and seasons are one of my personal favorites, keep these nice and updated.

P.S.- could you do the ancient tomb entrance, thats my personal favorite :)

Well I can't exactly name it but I will give it a try.
The vocals it self sounded great. But in my opinion the crossing from the single notes are not fluently. It sounds almost, like if you push different keys on a keybourd or synthisizer with vocals. I think staccato comes near. It's not a real staccato but for me it seems as i the parts where one note changes to another by the vocals is really apparently. Don't get me wrong, the song is great and I love it but at some parts it sounds not so fluent. Thats what I meant with technical.
I hope Iwas able to explean it. I really don't know how to describe it any better…

Love this song one of my favorites in OOA!… now u gotta make some dungeon musics, there good too! :D

Posted by Mycro_chip (October 26th, 2009 at 12:37 am) permalink

Oh ok. I do see what you mean now. I just wanted to match the "vocals" as you hear it in the game.

Posted by The Wolfess (October 26th, 2009 at 1:57 am) permalink

that was beautiful! Since Nayru is Zelda's patron goddess, I was thinking of her when I listened to it. It's a beautiful match for our fair princess's personality as well. I do agree that the vocal changes sound a little abrupt ("technical") but it doesn't bother me. Still very beautfil!

Yet again I am amazed. Keep up the good work!

So who else started new files on OoA just to listen to this song on loop?

Posted by Oracle_Link (October 26th, 2009 at 6:02 am) permalink

YES! AMAZING! The Oracles are my favorite games of all time after Wind Waker, so I love this update especially. =) One of my favorite songs from the duo as well. Now can you do Din's Dance? It's only fair. =P

Posted by Mycro_chip (October 26th, 2009 at 6:13 am) permalink

What does that mean?

I look forward to hearing more from you

when was there vocals in the original?

Posted by Mycro_chip (October 26th, 2009 at 9:08 pm) permalink

When you play the game, Nayru sings – right? So… instead of those beeping Gameboy sounds, I had the vocals in place.

Posted by RDX (October 27th, 2009 at 6:34 am) permalink

That was really good, actually. While I don't quite remember Nayru's Song you managed to make it a cross between serene and epic.

Though, this is probably just me, the instruments seemed…out of sync. But my head has been all muddled over the past few days so I think it's probably fine.

Posted by Mycro_chip (October 27th, 2009 at 8:29 am) permalink

I can asure you that they are fine. The instruments vary in rhythm rather than out of syncopation.

Whoo! Finally some love for the Oracles. I really hope to see more of the handheld titles getting more reorchestrations. Beautiful job

It's because this song appears right at the intro of the game. So SahaQiel is asking if anyone started new games just to listen to this song.
I know I have!!

Posted by Mycro_chip (October 28th, 2009 at 10:09 pm) permalink

Oh… I understand now. lol :)

Posted by Bluebird (October 29th, 2009 at 1:53 pm) permalink

Well that explains everything. ^^
With this backgroundinformation there's nothing left to criticize.
Apart from the fact that the Listen page has still not been updated. :-P
(Yes I know that I'm a pain in the neck :-P )

Constructive Criticism alert!

I must say that you guys have been making some great music lately, however I am not entirely fond of this one, mostly just for that extra note in the main progression. Just kind of throws it off for me. It is a well done piece still, but it just kind of takes away from the original for me.

Just my opnion at least
